Saturday, May 26, 2008 Tour:

Today we had the  pleasure of the grade 5 class from Twain Sullivan Elementary School (Houston BC) on board with Captain Wayne, Jackie and Katrina.

They not only encountered a humpback whale and calf, Dall's porpoise, Steller sea lions, and harbour seals, they had a rare sighting for the Blackfish Archipelago of a Tufted Puffin.  Thanks Jackie for the wonderful photo.  The saying goes no pic no proof!

This is only the third time in our viewing experience of a tufted puffin in this area.  Usually they reside on the West coast of Vancouver Island.

From the wheelhouse:   What a great day with these wonderful kids!  Sunny and warm as a added bonus.

Captain Waynes quote of the day:  "Give some people an inch and they think they are a ruler". Anym.
