From the wheelhouse:

This is the first weekend of summer and wow what a day   Stubbs Island Whale Watching welcomed representatives from different tourism agencies from all over Vancouver Island as well as our international guests.  They were treated to a great day on the water.  Jasmijn from the Netherlands had her first look at krill, which is what the humpback whales like to eat.

Today again we had 3 humpbacks which we were able to ID and one unknown.  Scott Garrison from California was able to take a great tail fluke which will help our naturalists identify the unknown humpback.  The tide rips this afternoon had lots of action and we even saw an eagle swimming.  He must have been fishing for dinner!

We had an abundance of active Dall's porpoise who had a great time bow and wake riding, harbour seals but only one Steller sea lion.  A very special day

Captain Wayne's quote of the day:

"One today is worth two tomorrows." Benjamin Franklin
