From the wheelhouse:


What a fabulous day!  For the past several years a group of great young people come to Telegraph Cove to do 'service' and learn about the marine mammals that reside in the Johnstone Strait and Blackfish Archipelago area.  The Academic Treks kids were treated to over 200 Pacific white-sided dolphins 'popcorning' and riding the wake of the boats   The vocalization and echo location of the dolphins was incredible.  They were very entertaining with back flips and lots of jumps. 

Not only did we have amazing dolphins but the Dall's porpoise were around in abudance as were the eagles and the numerous sea birds.  Today we saw the fifteenth humpback whale known to be feeding in the area since May.  This is the 8th animal believed to be new to the Archipelago.  We don't have an ID as yet.
