From the Wheelhouse:
On the July 05, 2008 tour aboard the M.V. Lukwa, unbeknownst to the crew, Becky and Jeremy got engaged
This morning we were all very excited as a report of orca westing from Boat Bay up Johnstone Strait came over the VHF radio. The A5's came into the area overnight! The A8 matriline and A 23 matriline were viewed this morning for a total of 8 orca. This is very thrilling as today was the second time we have encountered the Northern resident orca this year. Our guests this morning observed the whales travelling, power diving and swishing their dorsal fins across the water as well as wonderful vocalizations.
On the afternoon departure the orca unfortunately continued down the Strait to the east, but the lunge feeding humpback whales, three Minke whales, active Dall's porpoise, Steller sea lions and fishing eagles didn't disappoint our guests.
Captain Wayne's quote of the day:
"Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it." Anon
