From the Wheelhouse:

Today was the first time in the twelve years I have worked for Stubbs Island Whale Watching and over 2,600 trips I have captained, that I have seen Pacific white-sided dolphins and Dall's porpoise bow-riding together!   There were over 100 dolphins mixed in with a large group of porpoise.  Both vessles and guests really enjoyed the bow-riding!

From humpback whales, dolphins and porpoise to the great minke whale sighting it was a super deluxe day!  Not only was it a 'first' with the dolphins and porpoise', this was the first time that we have identified a minke whale in this area.  We saw this particular animal for the first time on June 12, 2007.  Seabirds, bald eagles and feeding Steller sea lions topped off a perfect day on the water.

Captain Waynes quote of the day:

"Between the dream and the deed lie the doldrums."  Herb Paxson
