From the Wheelhouse:
Another great day on the water and today its all about the BIRDS! A huge influx of migrating birds....Sooty shearwaters, auklets, murres, phalaropes, pelagic cormorants and fork tail and leaches storm petrel's. September is such a wonderful month for the diversity of the Archipelago area.
Another unidentified humpback whale (new to us), hundreds of Steller sea lions, Dall's porpoise and harbour seals. Our guests today were fortunate to see the A8's; A23's; A24's; A25's and the A30 matrilines of resident killer whales. Lots of traveling, foraging and resting lines.
All in all a fantastic day!
Captain Wayne's quote of the day:
"Ahhhhhhhhhh...September!"
